From Frizz to Fabulous – Managing Frizzy Hair
How to manage frizzy hair is one of the most common requests we get from clients, particularly because of our hot and humid climate.
Frizzy hair looks messy, can seem unmanageable and is more prone to damage but it’s not all bad news. With a few tips and great products, you can transform your frizzy hair to fabulous.
For long-lasting and highly effective results, you may like to try a smoothing treatment on your hair. Smoothing treatments applied in the salon combat frizz and can last for several months.
You may have heard of keratin-based treatments but there are also other options.
At B Hair we love AGI ONE. AGI ONE’s unique technology releases nanoparticles that smooth and condition hair, repairing from the inside and forming a protective layer on the outside of the hair shaft.
AGI ONE is based on silk proteins and amino acids making it a more natural option than other treatments.
Unlike a keratin treatment which requires you not to wash or pin up your hair for 48 hours, with AGI ONE you can style your hair as per normal straight away.
It also won’t affect your colour, so there is no waiting period between application and getting your hair coloured.
AGI ONE treatment last between three and five months.
Take Home Treatments
One of the best ways to keep your hair frizz-free is to invest in high-quality take-home products.
We stock products like Kevin Murphy’s Easy. Rider which controls and tames frizz while strengthening hair.
One of the most important reasons for using treatments when you have frizzy hair is because they can repair damage and replace lost moisture. Dry and damaged hair is more prone to frizz.
You could try a take home treatment such as Nak Aromas Hydra Therapy. This product contains the highly moisturising argan oil.
Other Products & Tips
Using hair oil products like argan can replenish your hair, help manage frizz and add shine.
You should also use a hydrating shampoo and conditioner especially if your hair is already chemically treated or coloured.
Speak to a hairdressing professional about the best products for you. For instance, if you have blonde or bleached hair, they may recommend a hydrating product with violet tones to reduce brassiness.
It can also be a good idea to avoid using heat to dry your hair and reduce the use of straightening irons as much as possible.
While blow drying or using irons can help straighten your hair and temporarily eliminate frizz, they also dry it out which can exacerbate frizziness and make it worse in the long run.
Always make sure you use a heat protectant spray product and limit your heat styling.
